The sunshine state as it is known to most people. The state has become a very popular winter destination especially for the rich. The state has a proud history in agriculture and oranges are the main agricultural export. Tallahassee is the capital of the state. The main attractions to Florida for most people are the beaches and the Disney theme park. The best places to visit in Florida are not located in the usual tourist areas but are secluded.

The state is divided into four regions Florida panhandle, north Florida, central Florida and south Florida. The last of the regions is home to the lovely beaches that the state is synonymous with. Central Florida is were most of the theme parks and the film studios like universal and Walt Disney are located. The state has a diverse concoction of societies. The sate will surprise people because the further south you go the more northern the lifestyle is. In the north of the state you will find that people practice a more southern way of life for example you will find cooking that is similar to that you find in Georgia. The state is unique in this sense as it has it defines its own way of life and does not follow the stereotypes of the other states. The landscape in the state full of wet lands and lakes in most of the state, the landscape is basically flat.

The cities of the sate are very much developed and this is not surprising for a state that is known for being a tourist hub. The state may be well developed it still has areas that have not been touched by man and they remain wild. The most unfortunate part about these wild pockets of space is that they are often located next to a big city. The state is in to agriculture and thus the farmlands are usually not located next to the city but are far away. North and Panhandle Florida are the main agricultural regions of the state. Wetlands and urbanization are evident more and more as one goes south of the state. The region that is known for its small chain of islands and unique geographical location is the Florida Keys. The state’s coastline is magnificent, with estuaries lying on the coats, bays and beaches

. The state is known for its great weather that is great for sun worshippers. The winter weather has encouraged a lot of people that have retired to settle in the state the summer season is very hot and long and thus the few showers that fall during that time are greatly appreciated by the locals. The state is prone to torrential rainfall and thus one should plan for rain while packing to go to Florida. The theme parks in the state have even come up with activities that can be done during the time it will be raining. The state as many people will know is affected by hurricanes every year and thus there is even a hurricane season and that is from June to November. The state has taken measures to prepare and protect itself from the hurricanes every year. The state mainly communicates in English but Spanish is becoming popular and there are some parts of the state like the south of the state that have adopted Spanish as the local language and use it on a daily basis. Most of the people that natives of the state speak with a southern accent but this is changing with the more people who relocate to the state. There are three major airports in the state and these are Orlando international airport, Miami international airport and Fort Lauderdale –Hollywood international airport. There are many other airports in the sate and hence one should research which airport will get him or her closer to her destination.

One can go to Florida by train; there are three train service operators that ply the Florida route. You can take a train ride from the big apple to the sunshine state. You can also use a car to get to Florida and there are three interstate highways that one can use to get to the state. Once you are in Florida you can get around the state using a bus and greyhound is the major operator. You can use a car and use the various interstate highways to connect to the cities that you are going to. There are car rental agencies in all of the airports in the state and you are guaranteed low rates for your car rental fees. One can also use the train to go around the state but it is expensive and should be done as the last option.

Places to go and visit in the state include the Walt Disney theme park, for the whole family. The Kennedy space center visitors complex, here people can see how space missions are managed. The state is home to the oldest city in the America, the city st Augustine is a fort that was built in the 17th century. Lighthouses are an iconic feature in the state and one should take the time to visit these unique images on the coast line.

The main activity to do in the state is to go to the beach and they are many choices in terms of which beach to go to. There is also spring training for the baseball players and it affords one the opportunity to watch his or her favorite players during their training session. You can visit the Miccosukee or Seminole Indian reservations, learn about the culture, history, play casinos and eat the food of the Indian people. There are cruise services that are available and one can visit numerous cities within the state in a boat.

The food in the state is as a result of many influences not only internally but from other international cultures as well especially Caribbean. The state is surrounded by sea and it comes as no surprise that sea food is one of the major dishes in the state.
